This recipe only requires a handful of basic ingredients! They're easy to find at the grocery store, or you might even have them in your kitchen already.
- Butter - 1 cup of butter (melted).
- Lemon Juice - 2 tablespoons of lemon juice (about ½ a large lemon, squeezed).
- Garlic - 2 tablespoons of garlic (minced).
- Shallot - ¼ cup shallot (minced, about 1 small shallot).
- Dijon Mustard - 2 tablespoons of Dijon mustard.
- Horseradish - 1 tablespoon of horseradish (prepared).
- Fresh Parsley - 2 tablespoons of fresh parsley (chopped, or 1 tablespoon freeze-dried or dried parsley).
- Dried Chives - 1 tablespoon of dried chives.
- Dried Thyme - 1 teaspoon of dried thyme.
- Paprika - ¼ teaspoon of paprika.
- Salt & Pepper - ⅛ teaspoon of each, salt & pepper (to taste).
- Cayenne Pepper - 1 pinch of cayenne pepper.

🔪 How To Make Cowboy Butter
There are only 3 simple steps to making this irresistible dipping sauce! Grab a small mixing bowl, a silicone spatula set (or whisk), and some measuring spoons to get started.
1 batch of homemade cowboy butter will yield 1 serving. You can easily double or triple the recipe depending on the amount of meat you cook!
- Stir. In a small mixing bowl, stir or whisk the 1 cup of melted butter, 2 tablespoons of lemon juice, 2 tablespoons of minced garlic, ¼ cup of minced shallot, 2 tablespoons of Dijon mustard, and 1 tablespoon of prepared horseradish until well blended. *Use an immersion blender or blender to make your sauce creamy if desired.
- Add ingredients. Add in the 2 tablespoons of parsley, 1 tablespoon of dried chives, 1 teaspoon of thyme, ¼ teaspoon of paprika, ⅛ teaspoon of salt & pepper, and 1 pinch of cayenne pepper, and stir until evenly distributed in the dipping sauce.

- If you want a thicker sauce, add more Dijon mustard. For a thinner sauce, add more butter.
