🔪 How To Make Reese's Pieces Bars

These beginner-friendly bars only take a little bit of prep work and a small amount of time in the oven. All you need to begin is a 9x13 baking dish, your mixing bowl, a silicone spatula, and your measuring utensils.

One 9x13 ban of dessert bars can be sliced into 20 servings, making them perfect for a large group!

    1. Preheat. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C/Gas Mark 4) and line a 9x13 inch pan with parchment paper, leaving a small amount hanging out of the pan for ease of removal.
    2. Cream. Using a stand mixer, cream together ½ cup (113.5 grams) of butter and 2 cups (440 grams) of light brown sugar, then add ½ cup (129 grams) of creamy peanut butter. Mix until well combined.
    3. Add. Add 2 large eggs (100 grams) and 1 tablespoon (15 milliliters) of vanilla extract, and mix well. Stir in ¾ teaspoon (4.5 grams) of salt and 1 teaspoon (4 grams) of baking soda, then fold in 2¼ cups (281 grams) of all-purpose flour until just incorporated.
    4. Fold. Fold in 1¼ cup (260 grams) of Reeses’s Pieces candy and ½ cup (90 grams) of mini chocolate chips. Mix by hand until the candies are evenly distributed.
    5. Transfer. Transfer the dough to your prepared 9x13 pan. Use a silicone spatula to move and press down the dough into an even layer. Add extra candy on top if desired, using your fingers to press them down gently.
    6. Bake. Place your 9x13 pan onto your oven's center rack and bake at 350°F (175°C/Gas Mark 4) for 35-40 minutes or until the top is golden. Insert a toothpick into the center to check for doneness. *If needed, cover the bars with some aluminum foil to prevent them from browning too much while they finish baking.
    7. Serve. Remove the pan from the oven and allow the bars to cool completely before cutting into squares.

Serve these bars alone, with a tall glass of milk, or alongside some more dessert bars when hosting a party! Place them alongside these sugar cookie bars and Hello Dolly bars to please everyone! Enjoy!

    💭 Angela's Tips & Recipe Notes

    • If desired, you can also swap in ½ cup of Reese’s Pieces peanut butter chips instead of the total amount of Reese's Pieces.
    • To enhance the appearance of your bars, you can reserve a handful of Reese's Pieces to add as a topping on the bars before putting them into the oven!
    • You can also add some chopped mini Reese's Peanut Butter Cups!
    • Keep a close eye on the baking time! These bars should be slightly undercooked (as they continue baking in the pan while cooling). However, they can quickly go from tender and chewy to over-baked.

    🥡 Storing

Store your Reese's Pieces bars in an airtight container at room temperature for about a week.

    Freezing Reese's Pieces Bars

Individually wrap your pars in plastic wrap and place them into a freezer food storage bag. You can flash-freeze your bars on a baking sheet first, so they hold their shape.

Freeze the bars for up to 3 months. Thaw at room temperature to serve.

    ❓ FAQ

Where Can I Buy Reese's Pieces?

You should be able to find Reese's Pieces at pretty much any grocery store! It's possible it could be on the baking aisle, next to the chocolate chips. However, they will certainly be on the candy aisle if they aren't in the baking aisle!

Do Reese's Pieces Have Chocolate In Them?

Nope! While the popular Reese's Peanut Butter Cups contain chocolate and peanut butter, Reese's Pieces are just a bite-sized peanut butter candy coated in a hard shell. No chocolate!

What Can I Use Instead Of Reese's Pieces?

These bars are pretty versatile! You can use M&M candies, mini Reese's Pieces, chopped Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, or chocolate and peanut butter chips!
