🔪 How To Make Air Fryer Bacon Wrapped Jalapeno Poppers
Air fryer bacon-wrapped jalapeno poppers are beginner-friendly and straightforward to make! You will need a chef's knife, a cutting board, and an air fryer to get started.
This easy air fryer appetizer recipe will make 12 jalapeno poppers! If you need to serve a larger crowd, you can easily scale up the ingredients; just be sure to work in batches.
- Prep jalapenos. Prepare your 12 medium jalapenos. Wash, slice in half lengthwise, then remove the seeds and ribs. *For presentation, I like to slice the jalapenos so that the stem is also cut in half.
- Mix ingredients. Add the 8 ounces of softened cream cheese, 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese, 1 tablespoon of lemon juice, ½ teaspoon of onion powder, ¼ teaspoon of salt, and ¼ teaspoon of pepper to a medium-sized mixing bowl. I usually start mashing my cream cheese, and lemon juice, then add the remaining ingredients and mix until evenly distributed.
- Fill jalapenos. Fill the halved jalapenos with the cream cheese mixture just to the edges or slightly over. *The filling will overflow during cooking if there's too much in your peppers.
- Wrap with bacon. Cut your 12 bacon slices into two thin strips by slicing down the length of each slice. Wrap each stuffed pepper with one bacon strip, securing it with toothpicks.
- Air fry poppers. Place your bacon-wrapped jalapenos into the air fryer basket with plenty of spacing, then cook at 360°F (182°C) for 12-13 minutes. The bacon should be crispy and browned when done.
- Serve. Remove from your air fryer and serve immediately.
These bacon-wrapped jalapeno poppers are the perfect party appetizer to make for a potluck, tailgating, or Super Bowl party! For a delicious appetizer spread, you could serve them with some boneless chicken wings, my homemade sour cream chip dip, and air fryer potato chips! Enjoy!

❓ Recipe FAQs
Great question! There are a few reasons why your cream cheese fell out of the popper. First, you may have overstuffed your jalapenos with the cream cheese mixture, so make sure to fill right up to the top. Then you can secure the bacon carefully with toothpicks at both ends. The cream cheese can also overflow over the top if you overcook the poppers.
Yes! First, allow them to cool off fully. Then arrange them in a single layer on a baking sheet or tray lined with a sheet of parchment paper. Place the tray in the freezer and flash-freeze the poppers for a few hours or until they are frozen solid. Once completely frozen, you can store them in a freezer-safe container or heavy-duty storage bag. Label your container or bag and store it for up to 1-2 months. Allow them to thaw overnight before reheating.
Absolutely! Feel free to prepare the jalapenos and cream cheese mixture and store them separately in the fridge overnight. Then when you're ready to air fry, you can assemble them and follow the cooking instructions!
