🔪 How To Make Chocolate Frosting Fudge
Microwaving in increments is necessary to keep your chocolate chips from burning. Grab a microwave-safe bowl, silicone spatula, and an 8x8 baking dish.
This fudge recipe makes 64 squares if you get perfect 1" squares cut from your 8x8 baking dish. However, I always cut larger pieces, so your yield may vary based on the size of your final chocolate fudge frosting fudge pieces.
Melt Your Chocolate
- Melt. Place 12 ounces of chocolate chips into a microwave-safe mixing bowl and heat in 30-second increments, stirring between each heating, until melted.
Make The Fudge
- Mix in frosting. Add a 16-ounce tub of frosting to the chocolate chips and stir to combine until evenly distributed. Transfer the batter to a greased 8x8 baking dish (*see note). Add any desired toppings, then cover with aluminum foil or cling film to set.
- Set. Let your fudge sit at room temperature until it sets firmly. If time is a concern, you may refrigerate it for 30 minutes to quick-set your fudge.
- Serve. Slice into 1" squares then serve.
There's no doubt this fudge is totally chocolatey and delicious as-is. Enjoy it with a glass of milk, vanilla ice cream and a drizzle of toffee sauce, or some fresh strawberries!

💭 Tips & Notes
- To grease your baking dish you may use butter, non-stick cooking spray, cooking oil, or line it with aluminum foil.
- I don’t normally recommend refrigerating fudge to set, but it works for this recipe/method.
- Storing: Store at room temperature for 1 month (refrigerating the fudge will dry it out).
- Freeze individually wrapped pieces or tightly wrapped slabs of fudge for up to 3-4 months. Thaw on the counter at room temperature.
