5 of the Best Ways To Reheat Pancakes
Pancakes are a classic breakfast option and can easily be made ahead of time! You can keep them in the fridge or even freeze them for later so that they are ready to enjoy at a moment's notice!
In An Air Fryer
Is there anything your air fryer can't do? I don't think so! Not only can you use it to make pancakes, but it also reheats them perfectly!
The outside of your pancakes will be a tad crisp, and the inside will be fluffy. Of course, due to limited space, this method works best when you are only reheating a couple of pancakes.
- Arrange your pancakes in a single layer in the basket of your air fryer.
- Air fry the pancakes at 350°F (175°C) for 2-3 minutes. There's no need to flip them!
- Carefully remove the pancakes from the air fryer and serve immediately.
In A Toaster
The toaster is one of my favorite ways to reheat pancakes, as it is quick, mess-free, and pretty effortless. It also yields a pancake that is slightly crisp on the outside while the interior remains perfectly fluffy.
Unfortunately, you may want to avoid using a toaster if your pancake has a stir-in ingredient, such as blueberries or chocolate chips, as they could make a mess.
- Place your pancake(s) into your toaster and adjust it to the same setting that you would typically use for a bagel or regular toast.
- Heat the pancakes for 1-2 minutes (maybe longer if frozen).
- Serve immediately.
On The Stove
Reheating your pancakes on the stove is pretty quick and simple. Plus, you can use some butter to add extra flavor and moisture back into them!
- Heat a skillet over medium-low heat.
- Brush each pancake with melted butter, if desired.
- Place your pancakes into the warm pan.
- Continue to flip the pancakes every 30 seconds or so until completely warmed through (about 3 minutes).
- Serve.
In The Oven
The best part about reheating pancakes in the oven is that you can warm a lot of them up at the same time!
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C/Gas Mark 4).
- Arrange your pancakes onto your baking sheet(s) in a single layer.
- Brush each pancake with a small amount of melted butter if desired.
- Cover the baking sheet loosely with a piece of aluminum foil.
- Warm in the oven for 5-6 minutes.
- Serve immediately.
In The Microwave
The microwave is always useful in a pinch, but it doesn't necessarily yield the best results. It can easily cause your pancakes to become soggy or tough.
Instead, only use it if you can't try the other methods.
- Place 1-4 pancakes in a single layer on a microwave-safe plate that has been lined with paper towels.
- Set a second paper towel on top of the pancakes.
- Microwave in 10-second increments until hot.
- Serve.

Best Method?
My favorite method for reheating single pancakes for 1-2 people is the toaster. It is very efficient and incredibly easy to do.
For larger groups (like the whole family), the oven is definitely the best way to go. It can heat a bunch of pancakes all at the same time with no extra effort from you!
Storing Leftover Pancakes
If you have any leftover pancakes and are going to eat them relatively soon, then they can easily be stored in the refrigerator. Let them cool completely, and then place them into a sealed container for up to 3-4 days.
Freezing Pancakes
For longer-term storage, you can also freeze your pancakes! Let them cool to room temperature, and then place your pancakes onto a baking sheet lined with wax paper or parchment paper.
Place the entire tray into the freezer until the pancakes have frozen solid (about an hour or two). Then, you can layer them in a container or bag, using a small sheet of parchment paper in between the individual pancakes to prevent them from sticking together.
They can be frozen for up to 3 months.
*When reheating frozen pancakes, you do not need to thaw them first. However, they may take slightly longer to reheat, so adjust your times accordingly.
