💭 Angela's Tips & Recipe Notes
- This sauce recipe makes 6 servings of 2 tablespoons each.
- There are disagreements online about whether sweet or dill pickle relish is best in a homemade Big Mac sauce. I still advocate sweet pickle relish for the closest flavor (even though I am a big fan of dill pickle relish and will usually pick that over sweet relish any time).
- For best results, always use quality mayonnaise. That's Hellman's (or Best Foods on the West Coast) and Duke's brand mayonnaise are my go-to favorites. Never use miracle whip for this recipe! In addition to my favorite brands of mayo, other whole egg mayonnaise brands can also be used.
- For a kick of spiciness to the sauce, you could add a few drops of sriracha.
🥡 Storing
Keep your big mac sauce in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 weeks. Give it a stir before serving.

❓ Recipe FAQs
What Can I Use This Big Mac Sauce On?
You can practically use Big Mac sauce on anything! Not only does it taste great on burgers, but it also tastes delicious on sandwiches and fries too. It also would make a tasty dipping sauce for onion rings as well!
It's a commonly shared belief that Big Mac Sauce is the same as thousand island dressing, but it's really not. Thousand island dressing is typically made with ketchup and a lot of Big Mac sauces use french dressing. My homemade sauce does not include french dressing because the mustard, BBQ sauce, and apple cider vinegar provide enough tanginess.
No, I don't recommend freezing Big Mac sauce. Since this sauce is a mayonnaise-based condiment, freezing wouldn't be a great idea. Plus, it's so easy to make, you can whip it fast any time!

Good flavor but was missing the French dressing tang I'm used to with big mac sauce. I added a tablespoon of ketchup and an extra teaspoon of apple cider vinegar. Nice recipe to have for those last minute burger nights!
