Fun Easter Peeps Nests With No Bake Cookies
When I make these Peeps nests at Easter time my daughter goes nuts for them, and I hear the 'aww, it's so cute!' comments non-stop! Start out with either my Chocolate No Bake Cookies, my Peanut Butter Oatmeal No Bake Cookies, or use a combination of both (as I did here).
I made these no bake cookies the night ahead of time, then dyed the coconut, and set everything aside with plastic wrap over it to set overnight. Assembling the Peeps nest is quick and easy, and a really fun project to let your little ones do on their own.

🔪 How To Make Easter Peeps Nests
If you've ever made no-bake cookies before (which are super easy), these Easter nests only have a couple of extra steps! You'll need some wax paper, Ziploc bags, and a small mixing bowl.
This recipe will make 16 fun and tasty Easter cookies!
- Prepare the cookies. Start out with making your 16 total no bake cookies as usual, except when spooning the cookie mixture out onto your waxed paper use a heaping tablespoonful portion.
- Press in the center. Once all of your cookie mixture has been spooned out onto the waxed paper, use a teaspoon to push an indent into the center of the cookie.
- Portion the coconut. Color 2 cups of shredded coconut by putting two one cup portions of the shredded coconut into separate ziploc baggies.
- Add the color. Fill a small bowl or cup with 1 teaspoon of water and add the food coloring, mix thoroughly, then pour into the ziploc baggies. Seal the baggies up and work the coconut around in the bag to distribute the color.
- Dry. Spread colored coconut out onto a baking sheet and allow to dry.
- Top with coconut. Once the cookies are set and the coconut is dried, fill the wells of the cookies with the colored coconut.
- Decorate. Place a Peep chick into the center of the cookie on top of the coconut, then place 4-5 mini jelly beans around the Peep chick on the coconut 'nest'.
- Finish. Repeat with the remaining cookies until you have used all 16 Peeps.
These cookies would look so fun alongside some Easter basket cupcakes! The kids will love them! Enjoy!

🥡 Storing
These cookies can be kept in an airtight container or bag at room temperature for up to one week.
Freezing Easter Peeps Nests
No-bake cookies freeze really well! However, I recommend freezing the cookies before decorating them with the shredded coconut and adding the Peeps. To do so, let the cookies freeze on a baking sheet until solid, and then place them into a Ziploc bag for up to 3 months. When ready, thaw at room temperature and decorate.

❓ Recipe FAQs
Your no-bake cookies should firm up after about 30 minutes of sitting at room temperature. It's a perfect time to let the colored coconut shreds dry out as well!
Peeps are chick shaped marshmallows that are coated in colored sugar with eyes that are made of edible wax.
Peeps actually have a pretty long shelf life. However, they need to be stored in an airtight container or else they will harden. When stored properly, they can stay fresh for an entire year!
