🔪 How To Make Franks and Beans
Since the hot dogs are already cooked, you are really just adding flavor and heating everything up. You'll need a large saucepan, your measuring cups, and a wooden spoon to mix it all up.
This recipe makes 4 servings, so it's perfect for a family dinner side dish! However, this recipe can be easily scaled up without any extra effort.
- Combine. In a large saucepan, combine 16 ounces of baked beans, ½ cup of ketchup, ¼ cup of brown sugar, 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar, 1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce, 1 teaspoon of mustard powder, ½ teaspoon of smoked paprika, and ¼ teaspoon of garlic powder. Stir to combine.
- Cook. Cook the sauce over medium heat until it starts to simmer, stirring occasionally.
- Add hotdogs. Add 4 sliced hot dogs to the saucepan, ensuring they are submerged in the sauce.
- Simmer. Reduce the heat to low and cover the saucepan with a lid. Cook the franks and beans for about 10-15 minutes, or until the hot dogs are heated through, and the sauce has thickened.
- Serve. Scoop into bowls and serve immediately.
Serve your beans and franks by themselves or over top of some white rice! Everyone will love them no matter how they are served.
