If you're a fan of Taco Bell recipes, you are going to love this. It is simple and quick to make and will take all of your dishes to the next level.

You'll love this creamy ranchero sauce so much that you'll be adding it to everything. Trust me, it is so even better than anything you'll be getting at the drive-thru!

🥘 Ingredients

This simple condiment only needs 4 ingredients to make! It truly is that easy.

  • Sour Cream - 1 cup of sour cream.
  • Ranch Dressing Mix - 1 packet of buttermilk ranch dressing mix. I like to use Hidden Valley.
  • Mayonnaise - ¼ cup of mayonnaise.
  • Habanero Sauce - ¼ of habanero sauce (*see note).

Be sure to see the free printable recipe card below for ingredients, exact amounts & instructions with tips!

🔪 How To Make Taco Bell Creamy Spicy Ranchero Sauce

This sauce does need to chill in the fridge for a minimum of 1 hour, so make sure to account for that when meal planning. Grab a mixing bowl and you're ready to go.

This recipe will make about 1½ cups of creamy spicy ranchero sauce. That's about 12 servings, depending on how much you like to add to your meals.

  1. Combine ingredients. In a small mixing bowl, add your 1 cup of sour cream, 1 packet of buttermilk ranch dressing mix, ¼ cup of mayonnaise, and ¼ cup of habanero sauce. Stir to combine.
  2. Adjust the thickness. Adjust the consistency to your liking by adding a splash of milk to thin it out.
  3. Chill. Once done, cover the bowl with plastic wrap and store it in the fridge for at least 1 hour.
  4. Stir and serve. Once ready, stir the sauce again and serve.

Add this tasty and spicy sauce to your favorite shredded chicken tacos or a Doritos taco salad! It really tastes great on anything! Enjoy!

💭 Angela's Pro Tips & Recipe Notes

  • Choose your favorite high-quality mayonnaise brands such as Hellman's (aka Best Foods on the West Coast) or Duke's for the best results. Don't use Miracle Whip!
  • Adjust the spiciness level by adding less (or more) habanero sauce.
  • To store: Keep your ranchero sauce in an airtight storage container in the fridge for up to 1 week.

It won't be quite the same but increase the sour cream and use what mayo you have. Thanks for asking!

Tabasco Habanero and El Yucateco are the two I most commonly find, but I tried some of the XXX Habanero Hot Sauce by Pepper Joe's and really loved it. Enjoy!
