Easy Sour Cream Chip Dip
If you are looking for a tasty appetizer to whip up in a matter of minutes, my homemade sour cream chip dip is the one to make! There is no cooking required, all you have to do is mix the ingredients in a bowl and chill the dip for 2 hours!
Typically, dill is a common ingredient in most sour cream dip recipes. However, this version is made without dill, and other flavorful herbs and spices are added instead!

🥘 Sour Cream Chip Dip Ingredients
You will only need 5 ingredients that are inexpensive and easy to find at the grocery store. Even though my sour cream chip dip is made without dill, it is just as tasty and full of flavor!
- Sour Cream - 16 ounces of sour cream. I use full-fat sour cream for the best flavor.
- Dried Minced Onion - 2 tablespoons of dried minced onion.
- Freeze-Dried Chives - 1 tablespoon of freeze-dried chives.
- Dried Parsley - 2 teaspoons of dried parsley.
- Garlic Powder - ½ teaspoon of garlic powder.

🔪 How To Make Sour Cream Chip Dip
This recipe is by far one of the easiest appetizers to prepare, just make sure to allow enough time for it to chill so that all of the flavors blend beautifully. You will need a mixing bowl, a silicone spatula set, and some measuring spoons to begin.
1 bowl of dip yields 12 servings. You can easily double the ingredients if you are serving a larger crowd!
- Combine ingredients. Combine all ingredients in a mixing bowl (16 ounces of sour cream, 2 tablespoons of dried minced onion, 1 tablespoon of freeze-dried chives, 2 teaspoons of parsley, and ½ teaspoon of garlic powder).
- Mix. Mix until the ingredients are thoroughly combined.
- Chill and serve. Cover the bowl with cling wrap and place it in the refrigerator to chill for at least 2 hours. Serve with chips or veggie sticks.
Sour cream chip dip is great to serve with crispy potato chips or fresh carrots and celery sticks. This dish also goes well with any family-favorite appetizer, like my smoked chicken wings or pinwheel sandwiches! Enjoy!

- You may also make this recipe by using 1 cup of sour cream and 1 cup of mayonnaise.
