Sausage Party Dip With Rotel

This sausage party dip is an incredibly quick and simple appetizer to make for any occasion! With only 3 simple ingredients and a cook time of 15 minutes, you will want to add this recipe to your go-to list of easy game-day appetizers!

After you brown and drain the sausage, add in Rotel tomatoes and cream cheese blocks, then cook until the cheese melts to perfection. Bring this dip to your next tailgate, potluck, or office party and you will watch it disappear quickly!

🥘 Sausage Cream Cheese Dip Ingredients

This sausage cream cheese dip features 3 ingredients that are simple to find at your local grocery store! If you prefer some extra heat, you can add some jalapenos or pick a spicier sausage!

  • Pork Sausage - 1 pound of ground pork sausage.
  • RoTel- 14.5 oz RoTel diced tomatoes with green chilies (1 14.5-ounce can, do not drain).
  • Cream Cheese - 16 ounces of cream cheese (2 8-ounce bricks, softened at room temperature and cut into chunks).

🔪 How To Make Sausage Cream Cheese Dip

Sausage cream cheese dip is an incredibly easy appetizer to make in only 15 minutes! Grab a skillet, silicone spatula set, and can opener, to get started.

This recipe will make 10 servings! It is perfect to make for a game day gathering, potluck, or any special party!

  1. Cook sausage. Heat a skillet or frying pan over medium-high heat and add in the ground sausage. Cook the 1 pound of breakfast sausage until it is browned, make sure to break it up into smaller pieces as it cooks.
  2. Drain grease. Once browned, drain the grease and return to the stove over medium-low heat.
  3. Add ingredients. Next, add in the 14.5-ounce can of RoTel (not drained) and the 16-ounce chunks of cream cheese. Allow the mixture to heat up and stir frequently until the cream cheese has melted completely.
  4. Serve. Once all of the ingredients are evenly distributed, serve immediately with chips.

Sausage cream cheese dip is great to serve with crispy tortilla chips, or fresh carrot and celery sticks! You can certainly pair this dish with any family-favorite appetizer like my delicious baked chicken wings. Enjoy!

💭 Angela's Tips & Recipe Notes

  • Make sure you don't drain your RoTel! You need the liquid for this recipe, or the dip will be too thick!
  • Serve this rich and creamy dip with your favorite tortilla chips, corn chips, celery, or carrot sticks!
  • If you want extra heat, mix in some jalapenos, more diced chiles, or hot sauce (you can also use spicier sausage)!

Keep any leftover dip in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days.

Reheating Sausage Cream Cheese Dip

You can reheat small portions using the microwave or reheat on the stove top over medium-low heat until the dip is thoroughly heated all the way through.

Can This Dip Be Made In A Slow Cooker?

Yes, cook sausage as directed, drain grease, and then add to crockpot. Add in remaining ingredients and cook on low. Once the cream cheese is melted, stir everything together and keep on a warm setting.

Is This Sausage Cream Cheese Dip Spicy?

No, this dip will not be spicy if you are using mild RoTel and normal ground sausage. This recipe can be made spicier by using hot Rotel and hot sausage or by adding in hot sauce or jalapenos.

Can I Freeze Sausage Cream Cheese Dip?

Yes! You can freeze this dip in an airtight container for up to 2 months!

Ingredients
 

  • 1 lb ground pork sausage
  • 14.5 oz RoTel diced tomatoes with green chilies (1 14.5-ounce can, do not drain)
