🔪 How To Make Chipotle Aioli

This simple condiment only takes a couple of minutes to prepare and requires absolutely no cooking! All you are going to need is a small bowl, your measuring utensils, and a spoon or whisk.

This recipe will yield slightly more than ½ cup of sauce, which can be divided up into about 6 portions.

    1. Add. Into a small bowl, add ½ cup (112 grams) of mayonnaise, 1 tablespoon (15 grams) of finely minced chipotle pepper, 1 teaspoon (5 milliliters) of lime juice, and ½ teaspoon (2 grams) of chipotle seasoning.
    2. Stir. Stir everything together until the ingredients are well combined.
    3. Serve. Serve immediately or store for later.

    💭 Angela's Tips & Recipe Notes

    • Once you've mixed everything together, you can taste the aioli and add more chipotle seasoning or minced chipotle peppers if you'd like to increase the level of heat.
    • Use high-quality mayonnaise since it acts as the base of the aioli. I recommend brands such as Hellman's or Duke's. Or you can try out my delicious homemade mayonnaise recipe!
    • If you are sensitive to spiciness, you can lessen the amount of chipotle peppers and add more as needed.
    • If you want your aioli to be extra smooth, you can mix everything together in a food processor or blender.

    🥡 Storing

Keep your chipotle aioli stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

    ❓ FAQ

Can I Make Chipotle Aioli Without Mayonnaise?

Sure! Traditional aioli is made using mayonnaise, but you can easily swap this ingredient out for some plain Greek yogurt for a lighter alternative. Keep in mind that this can alter the flavor, though.

How Do I Adjust The Spiciness Of My Chipotle Aioli?

You can easily make this dip spicier or milder. Simply add more chipotle peppers if you want to increase the heat, or use less of them for a more tame version. If you're unsure if the aioli will be too spicy for you, start with fewer peppers, taste it, and then add more if needed.

Can I Make This Chipotle Aioli Vegan?

Sure! All you need to do to make this aioli vegan is to swap out the mayonnaise for your favorite vegan variety. Of course, you should always double-check all of your ingredients to make sure that they don't contain any animal products.

    • Cajun Dipping Sauce - A zesty sauce that is packed with Cajun seasoning.
