🔪 How To Make Chinese Beef Meatballs
You may also want to scale the recipe up or down, depending on how many people you are serving and the size that your meatballs will be.
- Preheat oven to 400°F (205°C).
- In a medium to large mixing bowl, combine the meatball ingredients: ground beef, Panko, minced garlic, sesame oil, ground ginger and egg. Stir until thoroughly combined.
- Roll into 1" round meatballs and place onto a baking sheet (greased or parchment paper lined).
- Bake meatballs for 10-12 minutes or until inside is no longer pink.
- While the meatballs are baking, combine sauce ingredients: hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, soy sauce, sesame seed oil and ground ginger. Coat cooked meatballs by dipping or pouring over meatballs in a container.
Make the Hoisin Ginger Sauce
- Combine the Hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, soy sauce, sesame seed oil, and ground ginger in a small bowl and set aside until the meatballs are done baking.
Serve your meatballs by either dipping them into the Hoisin Ginger Sauce, plating and drizzling the sauce over them, or by placing them in a bowl with jasmine or long grain rice and covering them with the sauce (stir them in gently to avoid breaking the meatballs). Enjoy!

When you say ground ginger are you talking about fresh? That's what I usually use
Angela @ BakeItWithLove.com says
Fresh ginger is best, even the ginger paste that is found in tubes in the produce aisle but ground ginger (spice) works as well. We love using fresh ginger!

Hi! I was wondering if these need to be eaten warm or if they are great at room temperature. I have a get together and I'm serving appetizers, but I don't want to be cooking when guests arrive. Thanks. Great recipe!
Delectable Cooking and Baking says
Yes, you can keep them at room temp for quite a while or keep them warmed in a crock pot for your guests 🙂
