Air Fried Mac & Cheese Bites (from frozen)

Air fryer frozen mac and cheese bites are the perfect solution to craving comfort food when you don't want to cook. The air fryer makes the outer coating crisp and delicious while keeping the mac and cheese inside nice and melted.

All you have to do is toss your favorite brand of mac and cheese bites in the air fryer and let it do its thing. Serve them on a platter with toothpicks as a quick appetizer, or toss them on a plate and enjoy them all yourself.

🥘 Ingredients

All you need is your favorite brand of frozen mac and cheese bites. Kroger, Target, and Trader Joe's all have their own brands that are totally delicious (you can find Stouffer's at any store and it's tasty, too)!

  • Frozen Mac and Cheese Bites - 12 ounces of mac and cheese bites (12-16 pieces, or one package of your favorite brand's frozen mac n cheese bites).
  • Dipping Sauce (optional) - Ranch, marinara, BBQ sauce, or even ketchup would be delicious.
  • Parsley (optional) - Chopped for garnish.

Be sure to see the free printable recipe card below for ingredients, exact amounts & instructions with tips!

🔪 How To Air Fry Frozen Mac And Cheese Bites

Your air fryer does all the heavy lifting, you just pop them in the basket. You'll need your air fryer, of course, some tongs, and toothpicks if serving a group.

The nutritional values and serving information may vary by brand, so it's best to refer to the original packaging. Most boxes of macaroni bites make about 4 servings.

  1. Prep. Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Arrange. Once heated, arrange 12 ounces of frozen mac and cheese bites in a single layer with spacing between each of the frozen snacks.
  3. Cook. Place the basket into your air fryer and cook the frozen mac & cheese bites for 5 minutes. Turn and continue cooking for 3 minutes or until crisped to your satisfaction.
  4. Cool. Remove the air-fried mac and cheese bites carefully then allow to cool for 1-2 minutes before serving. Pair with your favorite dipping sauce and garnish with fresh or dried parsley if desired.

You can make an entire appetizer spread with your air fryer! Try some jalapeno poppers and pigs in a blanket. Enjoy!

💭 Angela's Pro Tips & Recipe Notes

  • There is no need for oiling your air fryer basket with these mac and cheese bites, they are oily enough on their own.
  • Leave space between your mac & cheese bites so that the oil can drain off to prevent them from being soggy.
  • Watch closely when your frozen mac and cheese bites are close to being done, they explode easily when overcooked.
  • Use tongs to remove your air-fried mac and cheese bites so you don't burn yourself on the basket.

❓ Recipe FAQs

Can You Put Frozen Mac And Cheese Bites In The Air Fryer?

Yep! No need to thaw them out. Just cook them straight from frozen!

How Long Do You Cook Frozen Mac And Cheese Bites In The Air Fryer?

Mac and cheese bites should be cooked in a preheated air fryer at 350°F (175°C) for 5 minutes. Then, open the basket and flip them before cooking for another 3 minutes. They take about 8 minutes total.

Can I Refreeze Frozen Mac And Cheese Bites?

I wouldn't. Once frozen and thawed it is best to enjoy them right away for the best flavor and texture. You can keep leftovers in the fridge for a couple of days and reheat them in the air fryer, but you should not refreeze them.
