🥘 Air Fryer Frozen Okra Ingredients

This recipe only uses 2 ingredients! It doesn't get any easier!

  • Frozen Breaded Okra - 12 ounces of breaded frozen okra. Use your favorite brand!
  • Oil - 1 teaspoon of extra virgin olive oil.

*Be sure to see the free printable recipe card below for ingredients, exact amounts & instructions with tips!*

🔪 How To Make Air Fryer Frozen Okra

Everything is easy when made in the air fryer! In fact, that is the only thing you need to make this side dish!

When making the full 12-ounce bag of okra, you'll have about 4 servings!

  1. Place okra in the air fryer. Add your frozen okra to the basket of your air fryer, making sure to keep the okra in a single layer to avoid overcrowding the basket. If needed, you can make your frozen okra in batches.
  2. Add the oil. Spritz the okra with olive oil (*see note).
  3. Air fry. Cook in the air fryer at 400°F (205°C) for 7 minutes. Take the basket out of the air fryer and give it a good shake, then continue to cook for another 7 minutes.
  4. Serve. Allow to cool slightly and then serve with your favorite dipping sauce.

Serve your okra with some homemade ranch or a Cajun dipping sauce! It also tastes great as a side dish for some BBQ baked pork spareribs or New Orleans BBQ shrimp! Enjoy!

💭 Angela's Pro Tips & Recipe Notes

  • Don't spray your air fryer basket with an aerosol non-stick spray as it will cause the non-stick coating to deteriorate over time.
  • Depending on your specific air fryer, you may need to add an additional 2-3 minutes of cook time.
  • To store: Place leftovers into an airtight container and store them in the fridge.
  • To reheat: Reheat your leftover okra in the air fryer at 400°F (205°C) for about 6 minutes.

❓ Recipe FAQs

Should I Thaw Frozen Okra Before Air Frying It?

Nope! There is no need to thaw your okra before cooking it. Simply toss it in the air fryer while still frozen!

How Long Does It Take To Cook Frozen Okra In The Air Fryer?

Time may vary depending on your exact air fryer model. However, in general, it should take about 15 minutes with a good shake at the halfway point.

Is Frozen Okra Healthy?

Of course, the breading on the okra does add some extra calories. However, using the air fryer is a healthier alternative to frying it in oil.
Plus, okra itself has a ton of health benefits! It is high in fiber, vitamin C, and potassium!
