🥘 Ingredients

You can find frozen sweet potato fries in the freezer aisle of any grocery store. Just pick out your favorite brand!

  • Sweet Potato Fries – 1 pound of frozen sweet potato fries.
  • Kosher Salt – Kosher salt is amazing on your fries, add plenty of this flaky salt to taste.
  • Black Pepper – To taste, usually a few cranks of your grinder will do the trick.

*Be sure to see the recipe card below for ingredients, amounts & instructions!*

🔪 How To Make Air Fryer Frozen Sweet Potato Fries

This recipe is a straightforward way to make a crunchy, salty snack! All you will need is your air fryer and some silicone kitchen tongs!

This recipe makes 4 servings, but they are so good that you might not want to share!

  1. Preheat. Get out your air fryer and preheat it to 400°F (205°C) and lightly grease the basket with oil.
  2. Add the fries. Place your frozen sweet potato fries into the basket in a single layer. Cook at 400°F (205°C) for 15-18 minutes and shake the basket every 5 or 6 minutes to prevent burning or sticking. *You may need to cook your fries in multiple batches to ensure that the air fryer basket isn’t overcrowded.
  3. Season. Remove the sweet potato fries from the air fryer and season with Kosher salt and a few turns of some fresh ground black pepper. Serve right away with your favorite dipping sauce.

For a fast and easy lunch, serve your sweet potato fries with some grilled brats or a chicken club sandwich! When I’m short on time, I like to make some quick and easy grilled chicken tenders while my frozen sweet potato fries are in the air fryer. Enjoy!

💭 Angela's Pro Tips & Recipe Notes

  • Cooking times may vary based on the size and model of your air fryer. If you are unsure, start checking the sweet potato fries' doneness at 15 minutes. Cook until they are a level of crispy that you are happy with.
  • There is no need to spray your air fryer basket with non-stick cooking spray because the aerosol will deteriorate the non-stick coating on the basket.
  • For crispy fries, don't overcrowd the basket. You want room for the air to circulate the fries so they get crispy on all sides. I usually cook the fries for 12 minutes, shaking them at 6 minutes. Then finish them in smaller batches for extra crispy sweet potato fries.

🥡 Storing & Reheating

Leftovers should be refrigerated in a shallow airtight container and eaten within 3 days. I do not recommend re-freezing the sweet potato fries as they a) lose their texture, and b) are prone to bacterium. Eww.

Reheating Air Fryer Frozen Sweet Potato Fries

Place cold leftover fries into your air fryer basket at 375°F (190°C) for 5-7 minutes. Flip once while heating and continue until the fries are warmed (and crisped) to your satisfaction.

❓ What Dipping Sauce Can I Use With Air Fryer Sweet Potato Fries?

There are no rules here, use whatever dipping sauce you like! My personal favorites are BBQ sauce or ranch dressing!

❓ Are Sweet Potato Fries Healthier Than French Fries?

Not really. Both regular potatoes and sweet potatoes are extremely similar in terms of calories, protein, fiber, and carbs. The difference lies within the vitamins and minerals in the different potatoes.

Both varieties of potatoes are nutrient-dense but in slightly different ways. For instance, sweet potatoes contain vitamin A, whereas white potatoes do not.

❓ Why Are My Air Fryer Sweet Potato Fries Not Crispy?

If your sweet potato fries aren’t crispy, it is most likely because the air fryer basket was overcrowded. These tasty fries should be in a single layer so that the air can circulate around each fry, making every side nice and crispy!
