Instructions
In a medium-sized mixing bowl combine the buttermilk, sour cream, lemon juice, and Worcestershire sauce until smooth. Add the remaining ingredients (blue cheese, garlic, salt, and pepper) and stir until evenly distributed.
Cover with plastic cling film and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to chill before serving. The flavors will meld best if refrigerated overnight.
Serve with additional crumbled blue cheese and/or parsley as garnish.
Notes
This blue cheese steak sauce recipe will yield approximately ½ cup of sauce depending on your ingredient proportions. Each serving is calculated as 2 tablespoons.
Use more buttermilk for a thinner sauce consistency, or more sour cream for a thicker blue cheese steak sauce.
An immersion blender or blender can be used to make the sauce smooth and creamy.
To store: Place any unused sauce into a shallow airtight storage container and refrigerate for up to 1 week.
