🍹 Whiskey Sour Mocktail Ingredients

You only need 3 ingredients to make this easy mocktail! If you can't find non-alcoholic whiskey at your local liquor store, you can order a bottle online.

  • Non-Alcoholic Whiskey - 2 ounces of non-alcoholic whiskey (*see note for preferred brands).
  • Lemon Juice - 1 ounce of lemon juice (freshly squeezed is best).
  • Simple Syrup - ¾ ounce of simple syrup or honey.
  • Orange Peel - 1 orange peel strip or twist for garnish.

*Be sure to see the free printable recipe card below for ingredients, exact amounts & instructions with tips!*

🍸 How To Make A Whiskey Sour Mocktail

You're just a shake away from enjoying a cool and refreshing whiskey sour mocktail! Grab some measuring utensils or a home bar kit, a shaker, and a rocks glass to get started.

  1. Combine ingredients. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice and add 2 ounces of non-alcoholic whiskey, 1 ounce of lemon juice, and ¾ ounces of simple syrup.
  2. Shake. Replace the lid and shake for 15-30 seconds.
  3. Strain. Fill a rocks glass with ice and strain your whiskey sour over the ice.
  4. Garnish and serve. Garnish with 1 strip of orange peel, and enjoy.

An orange wedge with a skewered cherry is another fun and colorful garnish that works well with this mocktail. It's the perfect drink for lounging by the pool or just a lazy day at home! Enjoy!

🥂 Cocktail Tips & Variations

  • Kentucky 74 spiritless whiskey, Ritual zero proof, Gnista barreled oak, and For Bitter or Worse Smoky no. 56 are a few of my favorite non-alcoholic whiskey alternatives.
  • If you have store-bought sweet & sour mix on hand, that can be used in place of the simple syrup and lemon juice.
  • Swap the simple syrup or honey for maple syrup to give your cocktail a lovely maple flavor!

🍲 Foods To Serve With

Smokey flavors pair exceptionally well with the flavor of whiskey and are a nice contrast to the sweet and tart flavors of the drink. If you have a smoker, now's the perfect time to bust it out!

❓ Recipe FAQs

Can I Add Egg White To This Whiskey Sour Mocktail?

Sure! If you enjoy the frothy texture an egg white adds to cocktails, you can use one here, too! Add all of the ingredients, plus the egg white, to a dry (no ice) shaker. Shake for 15 seconds to emulsify the egg, then add ice and shake for another 15 seconds. Strain over ice and enjoy!

Where Can I Get Non-Alcoholic Whiskey?

Many liquor stores will carry at least 1-2 non-alcoholic whiskey alternatives. If you don't live near a liquor store, you can purchase it from online distributors, including Amazon.

Can I Use Regular Sugar To Make A Whiskey Sour Mocktail?

Granulated sugar won't dissolve very well in cold liquid. Instead, make some simple syrup at home with sugar and water. Just add equal parts water and sugar to a saucepan and bring to a boil, stirring until the sugar dissolves. Remove from heat, let cool, and you have your own simple syrup!
