This easy to make Vodka Mojito is a light and bubbly cocktail that everyone loves! Mix in some Sprite or 7Up to sub out the lime and soda for a tasty option! The muddled mint leaves and fresh lime make this a refreshing summer drink that’s perfect for Cinco De Mayo or any day!
I have a great line up of Mexican dishes to round out your Cinco De Mayo festivities. My sheet pan steak fajitas or tacos dorados would be a perfect dinner to enjoy with your just mixed vodka mojitos!
Vodka Mojito Cocktail Recipe
This vodka twist to the classic gold or light rum-based mojito is a delightful cocktail! It’s one of my absolut ( pun intended! ) favorites for Cinco De Mayo, right up there a great Pina Colada!
One of the keys to a great cocktail is to use a good liquor. That’s no exception in the case of my vodka mojito.
I like Absolut, Grey Goose, Smirnoff, or Ketel One Citroen vodka for my mojitos. If I’m feeling swanky, I would use Belvedere, a luxury vodka from Poland. Yumm!
How To Make A Vodka Mojito
A vodka mojito is an incredibly easy cocktail to make, no shakers or strainers necessary! Start off with a high ball glass, and put your mint leaves, limes and simple syrup in the glass.
Muddle the base ingredients together, gently, but firmly enough to release the mint oil and lime juice. Once muddled, fill your glass with ice.
Pour the vodka into your glass and give it a stir before topping off your drink with soda water. Finish with a garnish of the reserved lime slices and/or mint leaves and enjoy!
What Can I Use If I Don’t Have A Muddler?
If you don’t have a muddler for making cocktails, use a heavy handled wooden utensil. A large wooden spoon or the handle end of a meat tenderizer works quite nicely!
- 12 leaves mint
- 1 lime (4 quarters, one quarter halved for garnish)
- 2/3 oz simple syrup
- 1 1/2 oz vodka (I use Absolut, Grey Goose, Smirnoff or Ketel One Citroen vodka)
- 1/2 oz soda water
- In a highball glass, muddle the mint and lime wedges with simple syrup. Fill the glass with ice.
- Fill the glass with ice and pour in vodka. Stir your drink, then top off the glass with soda water.
- Garnish with lime wedges and/or mint leaves.
