This Tex-Mex dressing is a super quick and easy salad dressing packed with tons of bold flavors you're sure to love. It only takes 5 ingredients to make, and no cooking is required. Add it to your favorite salads to take them to the next level!

This Tex-Mex dressing is rich, creamy, and loaded with spice. Not only is it perfect for adding some zest to salads, but it also makes a great spread on sandwiches, burgers, and wraps.

Honestly, I wouldn't even blame you if you used it as a dip, either (because it is just that good!) The base is made up of salsa, so it's easy to customize by using your favorite brand to turn up the heat.

🥘 Ingredients

This 5-ingredient dressing is packed full of flavor. You can make your own salsa or just use your favorite store-bought brand.

  • Salsa - ¼ cup of salsa. You can use either homemade or store-bought salsa. The spiciness of the salsa you use will directly affect how spicy your Tex-Mex dressing is!
  • Sour Cream - ¼ cup of sour cream, or you can try out a sour cream substitute.
  • Olive Oil - 2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil.
  • Tex-Mex Seasoning - 1 teaspoon of Tex-Mex seasoning, take a look at my recipe here.
  • Lime Juice - A splash of lime juice.

Be sure to see the free printable recipe card below for ingredients, exact amounts & instructions with tips!

🔪 How To Make Tex-Mex Dressing

This dressing is as easy as simply mixing it all together. Whisk it in a bowl for a chunkier dressing, or use a blender or food processor to smooth it out. You will also need your measuring utensils plus the jar to store the dressing in.

This recipe will make a touch more than ½ cup of dressing, which is great for about 8 servings.

Step 1: Measure. Gather and measure out all of your ingredients.

Step 2: Mix. Place your ingredients (¼ cup of both salsa and sour cream, 2 tablespoons of olive oil, 1 teaspoon of Tex-Mex seasoning, and a splash of lime juice) into a blender and pulse until smooth. *For a chunkier dressing, you can just whisk all of the ingredients together in a mixing bowl.

Step 3: Serve. Serve immediately or place into a jar and store for later.

Use this zesty dressing in a Tex-Mex salad, spread it onto a burger, or drizzle it on top of your tacos. The possibilities are endless. Enjoy!

💭 Angela's Pro Tips & Recipe Notes

  • You can also try out some Southwestern seasoning instead of the Tex-Mex seasoning.
  • For some extra heat, add a pinch of cayenne pepper.
  • If you love the flavor of lime, you can add some fresh lime zest in addition to the lime juice.

🥡 Storing

Keep your Tex-Mex dressing stored in a jar or sealed container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week. Give it a good whisk or shake before serving, as separation may occur.

❓ Recipe FAQs

How Long Does Tex-Mex Dressing Last?

Once made, this dressing will last for about a week in the fridge (if it even lasts that long!) Just make sure to keep it stored in a sealed jar or container.

Can I Make This Dressing Without Tex-Mex Seasoning?

It wouldn't be Tex-Mex dressing if it didn't have Tex-Mex seasoning! Don't worry, my Tex-Mex seasoning is made up of spices that you probably already have at home, so it is easy to throw together!

How Can I Use Tex-Mex Dressing?

Of course, this zesty dressing is fantastic for adding to salads. However, you can also schmear it onto a sandwich, dip your French fries in it, or add it to burgers! Honestly, it's great for any dish where you want to add a creamy and rich kick!
