Meatloaf dinners are a last-minute lifesaver in my home. I never have to worry about getting a great dinner on the table when I have ground beef and this great assortment of staple spices on hand.

You can whip up your homemade meatloaf mix in no time at all, and it's the perfect amount for a 2-pound meatloaf. Once you try this satisfying spice blend, you'll make extra to keep on hand for your life-saving dinners, too.

🔪 How To Make A DIY Meatloaf Seasoning

Making my own spice blends is a passion. I love having full control over all of the ingredients going into our family meals. There are no extra fillers or additives when you make DIY spice mixes.

Combine. In a small bowl, add and combine all of the spices. If you'd like to break down the herbs, use a mortar & pestle, spice grinder, or food processor.

Mix. Pulse or mix until well combined.

Serve or store. Use it for one 2-pound loaf of meatloaf, or store it for later use.

🥡 Storing

Store in an airtight container for up to 1 year. Keep in a pantry cabinet, away from sunlight and at cooler temperatures.

Be sure to give the meatloaf seasoning blend a good shake or stir before using if the mix has been stored.

I have made this recipe numerous times now. It turns out delicious every time. I also use the suggested Meatloaf Seasoning recipe that’s linked. It’s our families favorite meatloaf recipe.

I stepped out of the box with this recipe. I only had over a pound of hamburger so I cut it in half. It was good as is, but could use a little oomph to it. (I didn't have any thyme.) Just don't know what though. I'll make this again. At least it won't be going to the dog! LOL! Thanks.

This was thumbs up all around from my crew. My ground beef comes in about 1 1/2lb chubbs and is homegrown so it’s pretty lean and can wind up making a rather dense meatloaf. I offset that with egg and breadcrumbs as is pretty typical. I used this recipe full strength on the 1 1/2 lbs and I thought it was perfect.

Perfect! I only use ground beef one pound at a time. I put 2 little prep dishes side by side, and divided each ingredient to get 2 batches of this seasoning. Made meatloaf tonight, have another batch for a 1-pound meatloaf for another day.

This was wonderful. All the spices are in my pantry so why should I buy a prepackaged mix. Best ever! My husband and had been married for many years and went out to dinner in Valentine’s Day,and then when times got harder Maybe 25 years ago there was a commercial on TV for a heart shaped meatloaf. Tomorrow I would be married for 50 years and heart-shaped meatloaf has been a celebration ever since.
