🔪 How To Make BBQ Bacon Wrapped Brussel Sprouts
These BBQ bacon wrapped brussel sprouts are as easy as it gets! The only tools you will need are your grill, mixing bowls, and skewers!
This recipe is written for 4 servings, so double or triple the batch so that all of your friends can have some too!
- Prepare the brussel sprouts. Steam the 1 pound of brussels sprouts for about 5 minutes to soften them before grilling. Afterward, immediately rinse them under cool water to stop the cooking process.
- Coat the brussel sprouts. In a small, microwave-safe bowl, melt 3 tablespoons of butter and then add 2 tablespoons of honey and ⅛ teaspoon of paprika. Stir to combine. Next, coat the cooled brussel sprouts in the honey butter mixture in a mixing bowl.
- Wrap with bacon. Wrap each brussel sprout with a half strip of the 8 pieces of bacon, then arrange on skewers by inserting the skewer through the point where the ends of the bacon overlap. Season with ⅛ teaspoon of salt and pepper.
- Grill. Place the brussel sprouts on the grill and cook for about 5-10 minutes, depending on the heat. During grilling, rotate the brussel sprouts to cook evenly and prevent burning.
- Serve. Remove from the grill when nicely browned and fork tender. Serve immediately, topped with your favorite BBQ sauce (optional).
These tasty BBQ bacon wrapped brussel sprouts make a great side dish when grilling out with your friends or family! Pair them with some grilled pork steaks, brats, or New Orleans BBQ shrimp for a complete, delicious meal!
💭 BBQ Bacon Wrapped Brussel Sprouts Tips & Recipe Notes
- You can make these ahead of time. Simply prep the brussel sprouts, wrap in bacon, and put them in the fridge! They'll be ready to go straight onto the grill!
- When picking out fresh brussel sprouts, look for ones that are bright green and avoid ones that have any yellowing leaves. For this recipe, I recommend smaller brussel sprouts so you wont need to cut them in half.
- Storing: These BBQ bacon wrapped brussel sprouts are best served immediately. However, if you happen to have leftovers, store them in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3-4 days.
- Reheating: You can reheat these in the oven or air fryer at 350°F (175°C) until warmed to your satisfaction - about 7-8 minutes in the air fryer and 10-15 minutes in the oven.
❓ How Long Do You Cook Brussel Sprouts On The Grill?
BBQ bacon wrapped brussel sprouts will take about 10 minutes to cook on the grill once they've been steamed for a few minutes first. Don't forget to keep turning them so they don't burn on one side!
❓ Are BBQ Bacon Wrapped Brussel Sprouts Keto?
It can be with one minor alteration! Omitting the honey will significantly drop the carb count. However, while brussel sprouts are a keto-friendly veggie, a one cup serving still has 4.7 net carbs. So, you'll still need to limit yourself.
❓ What Type Of Bacon Do You Use For BBQ Bacon Wrapped Brussel Sprouts?
You can use whatever bacon you like the best! Personally, I prefer using thin cut for this recipe so it can get extra crispy and decreases cooking time!
