Appletini

Jump to Recipe
Appletini pin with sour apple martini text.

The Appletini (also called a Sour Apple Martini Cocktail, but originally an Adam's Apple Martini) is a sweet, indulgent martini to enjoy! It's fast and easy to make, leaving you plenty of time to entertain company while you all marvel at the amazing apple cocktail!

Best Appletini Cocktail Recipe

This easy appletini cocktail has been a long-standing favorite in my household ever since my husband and I first heard it mentioned on Scrubs (another fave). After that, it just kept popping in pop culture references.

Since we'd already been mixing our own appletinis at home, we knew what the buzz was about! 🙂 So grab a shaker and get ready to be 'wowed'!

🍹 Ingredients

  • Ice - Make sure you have enough for all of the apple martinis.
  • Vodka - I typically will go for Grey Goose, Ketel One or Stolichnaya.
  • Apple Juice - Normal store bought apple juice is all you need.
  • Sour Apple Liqueur - DeKuyper Sour Apple Pucker Liqueur. This liqueur makes the BEST appletinis and is worth a look around to find it!
  • Simple Syrup - Substitute with honey or Agave syrup. Or you can see my tips below on how to make your own simple syrup!
  • Optional Garnish - Apple slice or lemon peel garnish.

🍸 Instructions

  1. Fill cocktail shaker halfway with ice.
  2. Add the 1 ¼ ounces vodka, 1 ¼ ounces apple juice, 1 ounce sour apple liqueur, and ½ ounce simple syrup.
  3. Cover shaker, and shake for 20 seconds.
  4. Strain and pour into a martini glass.
  5. Garnish with a lemon peel or apple slice, and enjoy!

🥂 Cocktail Tips & Variations

  • You can substitute the sour apple liqueur with a sweet apple liqueur like Apfelkorn.
  • Shake for a full 20 seconds to aerate and fully chill the appletini.
  • The sour version here is very sour, so don't skip the simple syrup.
  • If using apple slices as garnish, be sure to brush them with lemon juice to prevent them from browning.
  • Make it a 'rumpletini'! Swap out light rum for the vodka for a flavorful change.

Don't have simple syrup? Make your own!

  1. In a small sauce pan combine 1 cup sugar with 1 cup water.
  2. You will want to stir until the sugar dissolves.
  3. Bring the mixture to a low boil for 1 minute.
  4. Shut off the heat, allow to cool and refrigerate.
  5. Done, now you have your own simple syrup!
