Instructions
Preheat your cleaned and oiled grill to medium heat (350-400°F). Combine the seasonings (salt, paprika, ground black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder) and set aside.
In a small bowl or cup, combine the apple cider vinegar and water. Brush the mix over your pork steaks, then season generously with the seasoning blend. Flip and repeat on the opposite side.
Place your pork steaks on the grill and cook for 8-10 minutes, then flip and grill for 8-10 minutes on the opposite side. After that, flip as needed to finish with a perfect caramelized sear and your desired level of doneness (with the internal temperature checked at the thickest portion of the pork steaks).
Transfer your pork steaks to a plate, platter, or cutting board and loosely cover them with foil. Allow them to rest for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
The USDA considers pork safe to eat when it reaches an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C). At this internal temperature, your pork steaks will be juicy and slightly pink in the middle. You may cook your pork steaks up to 160°F (71°C) for well-done.
Keep in mind, that after you remove your pork steaks from the grill they will continue to cook another 5°F (also known as 'carryover cooking').
To store: Leftover grilled pork steaks should be refrigerated in an airtight container and enjoyed within 3-4 days.
Resting is important! Your grilled pork steaks will lose juices after being removed from the grill. Resting gives them time to reabsorb them so your meat stays nice and tender.
To freeze: Once cooled, place leftovers in a heavy-duty freezer bag or an airtight container and keep them in the freezer for up to 3 months. Thaw in the fridge overnight before reheating. *Remove as much air as possible from the freezer bag as it will lessen the likelihood of freezer burn (which pork is particularly prone to).
To reheat: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Add the pork steaks to a baking dish with a few tablespoons of broth or water. Cover them with foil and bake for 10-15 minutes, or until heated all the way through.
