Instructions
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C/Gas Mark 5) and spray a mini muffin pan with non-stick cooking spray.
Add 8 oz ground sausage, 4 oz cream cheese, ½ cup sharp cheddar cheese, and the optional ½ tablespoon Worcestershire sauce to a medium-sized mixing bowl and mix until thoroughly combined.
Remove each round of biscuit dough from the can of 16 oz Pillsbury Grands Biscuits. Use a knife or pizza cutter to cut each biscuit in half, then in half again so that you are left with 4 small triangles of dough.
Place 1 triangle of dough into each hole in the muffin pan. Use a spoon to spread the dough into the shape of the muffin mold with a divot in the center for your filling.
Divide the sausage cream cheese filling evenly between each of the dough cups.
Bake on the center rack at 375°F (190°C/Gas Mark 5) until golden brown, about 12-14 minutes. *If you are using raw sausage, check that the internal temperature reaches160°F (71°C).
Remove your biscuit bites from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
These biscuit bites can be made with cooked or raw sausage. If you decide to use raw sausage, make sure that the filling is fully cooked with an internal temperature that reads at least 160°F (71°C).
My preferred brands of sausage are Jimmy Dean and Johnsonville, though you can use whatever type you like! Even hot ground sausage would be delicious!
To make a slightly healthier version of these biscuit bites, you can use low-fat cream cheese and/or reduced-fat Grands biscuits.
Try customizing your filling by adding different cheeses, bacon, or your favorite diced veggies!
To store: Keep your cooked biscuit bites stored in a single layer in a shallow airtight container in the fridge for up to 3-5 days.
To freeze: Place your cooled biscuit bites on a baking sheet and flash-freeze them for 1 hour. Then, transfer them to a heavy-duty freezer bag and freeze them for up to 3 months. You can transfer your biscuit bites to the fridge to thaw overnight before reheating.
To reheat: Reheat your sausage cream cheese biscuit bites in the microwave or air fryer. If reheating from frozen, microwave them for 1-2 minutes or until hot.
