Instructions
Preheat oven to 375°F (190 °C/Gas Mark 5) and line a baking sheet with a silicone mat or parchment paper.
In a medium-sized mixing bowl, stir together 8 oz ground sausage, 4 oz cream cheese, ½ cup sharp cheddar cheese, and the optional ½ tablespoon Worcestershire sauce until well combined.
Unroll your 8 oz crescent rolls and separate each triangle. Use a pizza cutter to slice each section in half lengthwise in order to make 2 strips.
Use a melon baller to scoop heaping tablespoon portions of the filling and place it onto the wide end of the crescent rolls. Then, roll up the crescent roll towards the narrow end. Place them onto the prepared baking sheet.
Bake in the oven at 375°F (190 °C/Gas Mark 5) for 12-14 minutes, or until golden brown in color. *If using raw sausage, make sure the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C) as read by a digital meat thermometer.
Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
You can make these crescent rolls with either cooked sausage or raw sausage. If using raw sausage, make sure the filling is cooked until the internal temperature reads 160°F (71°C) for food safety.
Jimmy Dean sausage is my preferred brand, but you can use whatever kind you like! Try it with regular or even hot ground sausage.
For a healthier version, opt for low-fat cream cheese as well as reduced-fat crescent rolls. They will still be just as tasty!
You can easily customize the filling by adding bacon, different cheeses, or even veggies!
To store: Keep your crescent rolls stored in an airtight container in the fridge for 3-5 days.
To freeze: Once cooled, place your crescents onto a baking sheet and freeze for 1-2 hours. Once frozen, you can transfer them to a food storage bag for up to 3 months. Thaw in the fridge overnight before reheating.
To reheat: You can reheat your sausage cream cheese crescents in the microwave, toaster oven, or air fryer. If frozen, reheat in the microwave for 1-2 minutes.
