Fans of chocolate-covered pretzels will love these Valentine's pretzel huggies. Milk chocolate and white chocolate Hershey's Kisses (AKA 'Hugs') are melted on top of each pretzel with a pink or red M&M to top them off.
I needed a quick and easy treat to send to school with my Daughter for her Valentine's Day party, and these chocolate pretzel hugs fit the bill. They're quick, easy, on-theme, and they taste amazing!
🥘 Ingredients
- Pretzels - Small or mini pretzels. You can use shaped pretzels (squares or circles) or stick with classic pretzels.
- Hershey's Kisses Hugs - Hershey's hugs are essentially chocolate kisses coated in white chocolate. The stripes look nice when melted, though this recipe will work with classic Hershey's Kisses, too.
- M&Ms - I used red, pink, and white Valentine's Day M&Ms to be festive, but you can use any M&Ms you like.

🔪 How To Make Valentine's Day Pretzel Huggies
Valentine's Day pretzel hugs are an easy, no-bake treat (outside of melting the chocolate kisses) that anyone can make. Grab a baking sheet, parchment paper, or a silicone baking mat to start.
You can make as many pretzel candies as you want, as long as you have enough chocolate hugs, pretzels, and M&Ms candies. Fill your baking sheet, or grab another!
Step 1: Preheat your oven to 250°F (120°C/Gas Mark ½).
Step 2: Assemble. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat and set out the 48 mini pretzels in a single layer. Place 1 of the unwrapped Hershey's Kisses Hugs in the center of each pretzel.
Step 3: Melt the chocolate. Put in the oven for 3-4 minutes at 250°F (120°C/Gas Mark ½) or until the hugs begin to melt.
Step 4: Add M&Ms. After a few minutes, remove the pretzel hugs from the oven and put 1 of the Valentine's Day M&M's candies in the center of each one. Press down gently to flatten and spread the chocolate.
Step 5: Cool, set, and serve. Let cool completely, then transfer the baking sheet with the pretzels to the refrigerator for 10 minutes to quickly set the chocolate before serving.
💠Tips & Notes
- Make sure your chocolate has melted. If you take your pretzel hugs out of the oven and they won't flatten, pop them back in the oven for another minute or two and try again.
- Spread chocolate on larger pretzels. My mini pretzels were large enough that it was best to spread the melted hugs a bit before placing the M&Ms on top.
- Add sprinkles! Sprinkles can be added while the chocolate is warm if desired.
- Edible glitter is a fun addition. I added a touch of pink edible glitter once my hugs were set.
- Customize to fit your theme. The color of M&Ms can be changed to fit other themes or holidays.
