🔪 How To Make Peppers & Onions

If you've never made peppers & onions before, you're in for a real treat. They're incredibly easy to make and only take a total of 20 minutes! Take out a wooden spoon, a skillet, and a knife set to begin.

Two medium onions and green bell peppers will make around 4 servings! You can always make more if you work in batches and avoid overcrowding your skillet.

  1. Heat oil. Place a large skillet over medium heat and add 2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil.
  2. Saute. Once the oil begins to shimmer, add the 2 medium sliced peppers, 2 medium sliced onions, and ½ teaspoon of garlic powder. Saute, stirring occasionally, for about 5 minutes.
  3. Add salt & pepper. Season with ¼ teaspoon of salt and ¼ teaspoon of pepper to taste, and continue to saute the peppers and onions for another 10-15 minutes or until tender.
  4. Serve. Once cooked, remove from the heat and serve immediately.

These tasty peppers and onions add a pop of color, flavor, and texture to any meal! I like to serve them with my grilled chicken thighs or use them as a topping on my baked cheeseburgers. Enjoy!

💭 Angela's Tips & Recipe Notes

  • I used green bell pepper and yellow onion. However, you could easily make a more colorful combination with red, orange, yellow, or green bell peppers and white, yellow, or red onions to make tasty fajita peppers and onions!
  • Cook your peppers & onions until they reach your desired level of softness.
  • I enjoy the simple seasoning mixture of salt, pepper, and garlic powder, but you can use any of your favorite herbs or spices!
