🥘 Ingredients For Cooking Frozen Peas
You'll only need a few staple ingredients to make these peas extra delicious! The sugar is optional, but I recommend trying it out!
- Frozen Peas - 12 ounces of frozen peas. There's no need to defrost these; go ahead and use them straight out of the freezer!
- Butter - 4 tablespoons of salted butter. You could use extra virgin olive oil (EVOO) if you like, but I find that the butter adds so much flavor!
- Sugar (optional) - 1 tablespoon of sugar, if desired. Adding sugar will bring out the natural sweetness of the peas and won't taste weird at all!
- Garlic - 2 teaspoons of minced garlic (or 2 cloves).
- Salt & Pepper - ¼ teaspoon of both salt and pepper, to taste.

🔪 How To Cook Frozen Peas
Don't bother with defrosting your peas, as you can easily cook them straight from frozen! All you will need is a medium-sized skillet and a wooden spoon.
12 ounces of frozen peas are good for about 3 standard-sized servings.
- Heat. Add 12 ounces of frozen peas, 4 tablespoons of butter, 2 teaspoons of garlic, and the optional 1 tablespoon of sugar to a medium-sized skillet and place it over medium heat.
- Cook. Once hot, cook, stirring occasionally for 5-6 minutes or until the peas are tender.
- Drain and season. Remove the skillet from the heat and drain off any excess liquid. Return the peas to the skillet and season with ¼ teaspoon of both salt and pepper. Stir well to distribute the seasoning.
- Serve. Portion and serve immediately.
This tasty side dish is super universal! Serve them alongside a baked ribeye steak, juicy pan-seared pork chops, or slow cooker brisket! Enjoy!
