🥘 Crockpot Apple Cider Ingredients

Crock-pot apple cider only requires a few inexpensive ingredients to make. You can add orange and apple slices on top for some sweetness to balance the spices if desired!

  • Mulling Spices - 2 tablespoons of mulling spices.
  • Apple Juice - 8 cups of apple juice.
  • Brown Sugar - ¼ cup of brown sugar.
  • Orange - 1 orange (optional, sliced).
  • Apple - 1 apple (optional, sliced).

*Be sure to see the free printable recipe card below for ingredients, exact amounts & instructions with tips!*

🔪 How To Make Crockpot Apple Cider

With only 5 minutes of prep time, this crockpot apple cider recipe is truly hands-off! Gather your crockpot (slow cooker), chef's knife, and measuring cups to get started!

This apple cider will yield about 8 servings (½ gallon)! If you have extra crockpots, you can double or triple this recipe for large holiday parties!

  1. Prep spices. Place 2 tablespoons of mulling spices in a double layer of cheesecloth and bring up the sides to form a 'bag', tie closed with a string (*see note).
  2. Add ingredients. Add the 8 cups of apple juice, ¼ cup brown sugar, and mulling spices to your crockpot or slow cooker. Stir until brown sugar dissolves.
  3. Place fruit on top. Lay apple and orange slices on top of the cider and replace the lid of your crockpot.
  4. Cook. Cook on low for 2-3 hours or high for 1 ½ hour. Garnish with sliced fruit or cinnamon sticks, if desired, and serve while warm.

A cup of hot apple cider is all you need to enjoy your family and friends' company. Spiced apple cider and my apple cobbler bars would be divine together! Enjoy!

💭 Angela's Tips & Recipe Notes

  • Sliced lemons and/or cranberries make a lovely addition to this cider.
  • In place of making a cheesecloth bag for the mulling spices, you may remove the large pieces of spices with a slotted spoon or strainer after cooking.
  • This recipe yields about ½ a gallon of mulled apple cider.
  • Add your favorite bourbon or whiskey for a delicious spiked adult beverage!

🥡 Storing Crockpot Apple Cider

Extra apple cider can be kept in the fridge for up to 5 days. Remove the fruit and skim off any foam that has accumulated on the top. Pour the cider into a plastic pitcher with a lid or a glass bottle with a lid and refrigerate.
