🔪 How To Make Cinnamon Apple Bread
This quick bread is super simple to prepare, as there is no kneading or waiting for the dough to rise! All you will need is some loaf pans, a couple of mixing bowls, a whisk, and your measuring spoons and cups.
This recipe will yield 2 standard-sized loaves or 6 mini loaves, so you can freeze one for later or share them with friends!
Prepare the Cinnamon Apple Bread Batter
- Preheat. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and flour your loaf pans.
- Mix the cinnamon apples. In a small mixing bowl, stir together the 1 large apple, ½ cup of light brown sugar, and 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon. Set aside.
- Whisk. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together 2 large eggs, 2 cups of milk, and ⅔ cup of melted butter until well combined. Then, mix in 2 cups of sugar, 2 tablespoons of baking powder, 1 teaspoon of salt, 1 tablespoon of ground cinnamon, and ½ teaspoon of ground nutmeg until thoroughly incorporated.
- Add flour. Add 4 cups of all-purpose flour and mix only until just combined. Don't over-mix the batter.
Layer With Cinnamon Apples & Bake
- Layer. Pour half of the batter mixture into the prepared loaf pans. Then, top it with the apple mixture, followed by the second half of the batter. Use a knife to swirl the batter down the center of the loaf pan.
- Bake. Bake in the preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out mostly clean.
- Cool. Remove the bread from the oven and let it cool in the loaf pan for 10 minutes before turning it out onto a cooling rack. Let the bread cool completely before adding the glaze (if using).
Prepare the Vanilla Glaze & Drizzle
- Mix. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the glaze ingredients (6 tablespoons of melted butter, 3 cups of confectioners sugar, 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract, and 3 tablespoons of heavy cream) until smooth.
- Drizzle. Once the apple cinnamon bread is completely cool, pour the glaze over the top. Let the glaze set for a few minutes, and then slice and serve.
Pair your bread with a schmear of butter, jelly, or cream cheese alongside a warm cup of tea or coffee! You could also drizzle it with some honey or maple syrup and add a dollop of whipped cream for an extra sweet treat! Enjoy!

❓ Recipe FAQs
Not all apples bake the same, so you'll want to use a variety that can withstand the heat of the oven without becoming overly mushy. Some great options are Honeycrisp, Braeburn, Jonagold, and Pink Lady. Take a look at my post that talks all about the best apples for baking if you need some more options.
Yes! This bread freezes incredibly well. Since it makes 2 loaves, I always enjoy one right away and freeze the second one for later. Allow it to cool completely, then wrap it tightly in plastic wrap, then foil, and place it in a zip-top freezer bag. It can be frozen for up to 3 months.
Sure! You can use this batter to make muffins. However, you'll want to adjust the baking time as they will cook faster than a loaf of bread. I would start checking the muffins for doneness around 15 minutes.
