I always have fun making holiday-themed treats with my family, like these puff pastry hearts or pretzel hearts. They're ideal for classroom parties, work potlucks, and more.
A big bonus of this Oreo bark is that it is entirely kid-friendly. You can help melt the chocolate in the microwave and then let them assemble the bark themselves!
🥘 Ingredients
- Candy Melts - You will need dark chocolate, white chocolate, red, hot pink, and light pink candy melts. You can vary your colors or add gel food coloring to white chocolate to customize your chocolate bark.
- Oreo Cookies - I used red velvet Oreo cookies, but you could also use regular ones, golden Oreos, Double-Stuf, or your favorite limited edition flavor.
- Sprinkles - Grab your favorite festive Valentine's Day sprinkles. Mix and match sprinkles to customize your Oreo candy.

🔪 How To Make Valentine's Chocolate Oreo Bark
Chocolate bark is made by just layering the different ingredients and giving it time to set up. You will need parchment paper, a baking sheet, several small microwave-safe bowls, and a silicone spatula.
This recipe will yield enough chocolate bark for 12 servings.
Make The Oreo Bark
Step 1: Melt the chocolate. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and melt 12 ounces (340 grams) of dark chocolate candy melts by placing them into a microwave-safe bowl and heating them in 30-second increments. Make sure to stir well in between each 30-second heating increment until melted.
Step 2: Spread the chocolate. Once the chocolate has melted, pour it onto your prepared baking sheet and spread it into a rectangular shape with a silicone spatula.
Step 3: Add the Oreos. Arrange 20 red velvet Oreo Cookies onto the melted chocolate in four rows of five. Crush the remaining four Oreos and sprinkle them in the spaces between the cookies.
Step 4: Melt the remaining chocolate. Melt the 12 ounces (340 grams) of white chocolate candy melts and 4 ounces (113 grams) of red, light pink, and hot pink candy melts in separate bowls using the same microwave method.
Step 5: Layer. Evenly spread the melted white chocolate over the Oreos. Then, pour each colored chocolate to cover â…“ of the white chocolate.
Decorate, Set & Serve
Step 6: Swirl. Use a knife or an offset spatula to gently swirl the colors and sprinkle the Valentine's sprinkles over the melted chocolate.
Step 7: Set. Transfer the baking sheet to the refrigerator to set for 30 minutes to an hour. Alternatively, if you're not in a rush, leave the chocolate bark overnight to set, then portion it in the morning.
Step 8: Break. Once the chocolate is completely hard, remove it from the fridge. Then, cut or break it into chunks and serve.

💠Tips & Notes
- Alternative to a sheet pan. This chocolate bark assembles easily in a 9x13 baking pan, too. Make sure to line the pan with parchment paper for easy removal.
- Color your chocolate. If you don't have the colored candy melts, double your white chocolate melts and color them using food dye.
- Don't burn the chocolate. White chocolate can burn when heated, so watch it closely.
- Customize your Oreos. I used red velvet Oreo cookies, but you can use any of your favorite varieties.
- Storage. Keep your Oreo bark stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
