Why Measure In Grams?
Measuring in grams is particularly more useful when baking as it is a more precise measurement than ounces. A good example would be the way you can fit more flour into a cup if you pack it in, but the weight will always be a set amount.

The actual conversion is: 1 ounce (oz) is the equivalent of 28.34952 grams (g).

How Many Grams Are In ⅛ Of An Ounce?
Because it is such a small measurement, people often wonder how many grams are in an ⅛ of an ounce. This is not a common amount used in cooking or baking so it did not make the chart, but the correct answer is 3.5 grams.
How Many Grams In A Pound?
I've added a few pound equivalencies to the grams to ounces chart above, so you can see that the 16 ounce measurement (or 1 pound) is also 454 grams.
How To Measure In Grams
If you need to measure an ingredient in grams, you will need a food or kitchen scale. Turn the scale on, tare it (0 it out) before you place the ingredient on the scale.
Once the scale says 0, place your ingredient on top and add to it or remove some until you reach the desired weight in grams.
