Instructions
Place 40 oz frozen meatballs into your slow cooker.
Add 16 oz honey BBQ sauce, 1 cup yellow sweet onion, and the optional 1-2 teaspoon liquid smoke. Stir until everything is well combined.
Close the crockpot and cook on high power for 2 hours or low power for 3-4 hours. Stir occasionally to prevent the meatballs from burning along the edges.
Serve immediately with toothpicks, on mashed potatoes, rice, noodles, or rolls.
Notes
Any flavored BBQ sauce works wonderfully in this recipe. You may opt to not add the liquid smoke depending on the flavor.
To keep warm for a party, set your crockpot to the warm setting once the time has ended. They can be kept warm for up to 3 hours. Make sure you stir them occasionally and add a splash of water if the sauce becomes dry.
Use your favorite brand of frozen meatballs since they are the main ingredient!
There's no need to thaw out your meatballs. Add them to your crockpot straight out of the freezer.
To store: Keep your meatballs stored in a sealed container in the refrigerator for a few days.
To reheat: Reheat your meatballs either in the microwave, on the stovetop, or back in the slow cooker.
