🔪 How To Make Trolli Sour Brite Crawlers Cookies

These cookies are so easy to make! You will want an electric mixer with a mixing bowl, a spatula, and a cookie sheet!

This recipe has a serving amount of around 24 cookies. You will have plenty for a delicious treat after dinner or to bring to a small party.

  1. Preheat. First, preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet(s) with parchment paper or a Silpat baking mat.
  2. Mix. Using an electric mixer, cream together ¾ cup butter (or a blend of butter and shortening) with 1 cup sugar until the mixture is fluffy and light. Then beat in 1 large egg, 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract, ½ teaspoon of baking soda, and ¼ teaspoon salt.
  3. Add flour and candy. Next, add 2 cups of all-purpose flour in small increments and mix until you have a smooth dough. Gently fold in 1 cup Trolli Sour Brite Crawlers candies until evenly distributed.
  4. Roll into cookies. Use a tablespoon or cookie scoop to scoop out the cookie dough and roll it into a ball. Place the balls onto the baking sheet and slightly flatten them with your hands, leaving some space in between the cookies.
  5. Bake and cool. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 10-14 minutes, or until the bottom part of the cookies has only just begun to turn golden in color. Remove them from the oven and let them cool on the pan for 5 minutes before moving them to a cooling rack to finish cooling.

Serve and try these cookies with cold milk! You could also try crushing the cookies and adding them to a bowl of vanilla ice cream with my homemade whipped cream on top! Enjoy!

💭 Angela's Pro Tips & Recipe Notes

  • I used two 5.5-ounce bags of Trolli Sour Brite Crawlers minis and had just enough candies to make these cookies.
  • I recommend using kitchen shears for chopping up your Trolli Sour Brite Crawlers minis. Let the cut side fall into a small dish of granulated sugar so that the pieces don't stick together. Do this before folding the candy into the dough.
  • I've experimented with baking these cookies as rounded balls, drop cookies, and (my preferred way) rounded balls that have been slightly flattened.
  • The Trolli Sour Brite Crawlers cookies will continue to bake as they sit on the cookie sheet, so you'll want to give them about 5 minutes to firm up before transferring them.

🥡 Storing

To make these in advance, prepare the dough as directed and press it into a ball. Wrap it tightly in plastic wrap and store it in the fridge for a few hours (or even overnight). For best results, bake within 24 hours.

Keep any leftover cookies stored at room temperature in a sealed container for up to 1 week.

Freezing Trolli Sour Brite Crawlers Cookies

Wrap your Trolli Sour Brite Crawlers cookies in plastic wrap, then store them in a sealed container or freezer-safe bag to freeze for up to 3 months.

❓ Recipe FAQs

Does This Cookie Dough Need To Be Chilled Before Baking?

Nope! These fun cookies are ready to bake as soon as you are done mixing up the dough! In fact, chilling them can cause the candy to become hard. If you have trouble with your cookies spreading too much, take a look at my post on how to prevent cookies from spreading.

Can I Add Other Candies To My Cookies?

Yes, I hope you do! For this recipe, you can try out any of your favorite sour gummy candies. Or, take a look at some of my other recipes for cookies that have candy in them! Try some red hot cookies for a spicy cinnamon flavor or M&M oatmeal cookies for something extra sweet!

What Are Trolli Sour Brite Crawlers?

Sour Brite Crawlers are colorful gummy worms with a sour flavor and sugar coating! They are semi-hard but also chewy, making this candy super addictive! This brand offers other sour candies as well!
