Seasoning Ingredients
You will need 1 tablespoon of each of the seasoning ingredients listed below.
- Garlic Powder – Fragrant and fabulous.
- Paprika (or smoked paprika) – A slight spice and nice color. Smoked paprika adds more depth.
- Ground Black Pepper – A seasoning staple.
- Cayenne Pepper – Take your pepper up a notch.

- Dried Oregano – Earthy and peppery, even a bit sweet.
- Lemon Pepper – Fresh and vibrant.
- Chili Powder – Things are getting hot!
- Cajun Seasoning Mix – A mouthwatering mix.
- Old Bay Seasoning – The standby for seafood.
- Light Brown Sugar – A touch of sweetness to smooth out the sauce.
- Salt (optional) - Give your sauce a try and see if you need any. A dash is generally an enhancement.
Sauce Ingredients
- Minced Garlic - 12 tablespoons (¾ cup), or cloves from 4 whole bulbs. Adds a robust garlic flavor to make the sauce truly scrumptious.
- Onion - ¼ cup, white or yellow. Roughly chop about ½ a small onion to add texture to the sauce.
- Butter - 2 cups (4 sticks). This is the key to a delightfully rich sauce.
- Chicken Broth - 1 cup. It's savory and simple, enhancing the overall flavor.
- Worcestershire Sauce - 1 tablespoon. Adds a tangy, sweet, and salty dimension.

🔪 How To Make Blove's Sauce
Once you have your ingredients ready, the process is simple. You will be amazed at how so many flavors can come together so perfectly, making every bite of food fantastic.
Whatever sauce you were using before just won’t compare to Blove’s!
- Combine Seasoning Ingredients: In a small bowl, mix 1 tablespoon each of garlic powder, paprika (or smoked paprika), ground black pepper, cayenne pepper, onion powder, dried oregano, lemon pepper, chili powder, Cajun spice mix, Old Bay seasoning, and light brown sugar.
- Prepare Garlic and Onion: Place the garlic cloves from 4 whole bulbs (or 12 tablespoons minced garlic) and roughly chopped ½ small white or yellow onion into a blender or food processor. Pulse a few times until finely chopped.
- Sauté Onion and Garlic: In a large skillet or frying pan, melt 2 cups of butter (4 sticks) over medium-low heat. Increase the heat to medium, then add the onion and garlic. Sauté for 30 seconds to a minute until they are slightly softened, translucent, and aromatic.
- Add Liquids and Optional Ingredients: Stir in 1 cup chicken broth, 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce, and 1 tablespoon of lemon juice (plus zest, if desired). If using, add the optional ingredients (white vinegar, Tabasco sauce, ground ginger, crushed red pepper flakes). Mix well.
- Combine with Seasoning Mix: Add the prepared seasoning mix to the skillet. Stir everything together, then bring the mixture to a low boil, stirring occasionally.
- Finalize the Sauce: Once the sauce reaches a boil and all ingredients are well combined, remove it from the heat.
💭 Tips & Notes
- Wait to add salt and any optional add-ins (to taste) until your Bloves sauce is combined. You may find that the seasonings are salty enough. Over-salting could compromise the sauce.
- (Optional) Once the sauce has cooled slightly, you can return it to your blender or food processor and pulse a few times to combine the sauce best (as it likes to separate after sitting).
This is about more than just appearance, though! I have found that adding this quick step means that you get a better flavor in each bite. The seasoning is distributed throughout your sauce best with a few seconds in the blender! - Don't be shy with the lemon! It will help to cut the richness of all the spices and butter. I love using a heavy helping of lemon zest for my best Bloves sauce results.

🥡 Storing & Reheating
You can store leftover sauce in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 weeks. Or store in a freezer-safe airtight container and freeze for up to 3 months.
Reheat in a microwave-safe dish and warm in 30-second increments at medium power.
To reheat on the stovetop, transfer your sauce to a small saucepan and warm over medium-low heat, stirring occasionally. Continue cooking until heated to your desired temperature.
Finally, give it a good stir before serving, or pour some in the blender or food processor to freshen it up quickly.
❓ Recipe FAQs
According to the Walmart website, you can buy the Smackalicious seasoning mix packets. However, it is not sold in stores or shipped by Walmart itself.
It is a super-rich sauce that features flavorful spices. I like mine with a heavier amount of lemon (add the zest, too!) to offset the spice and buttery-richness of the sauce.
Bloves sauce is loaded with spices, so you need to be a fan of things that really feature all of the spices included in the ingredients (above). The optional ingredients take it from a mild version to a spicy one. Taste and adjust accordingly!

Really good I doubled the recipe but it came out super spicy so if you like it more mild add less of the spice! Otherwise great flavor. I added chopped pickled ginger and a little Coke to my recipe.

You are a special lady, made your sauce for my daughter after she showed me your utube video. Wonderful, even though we can only get the snow crab. We do snow crab, smoked sausage, colossal shrimp, little yellow potato’s, and corn on the cob. All was great in the Blove sauce, thank you , god bless!
