1tablespoonolive oil(extra virgin - for frying the bacon and hamburger if you are not using non-stick pans)
6stripsbacon(cut into ½" pieces)
1lbground beef(lean or extra lean)
1teaspooneach, salt & pepper
1cupwater(lukewarm or hot)
2cupsmilk(room temperature works best)
2cupselbow noodles(dry, uncooked)
2tablespoonparsley(fresh, chopped - optional)
In a large skillet or frying pan, cook the sliced bacon and brown the ground beef at medium high heat. Drain off the grease.
Add seasoning (salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano and paprika) and stir into the browned ground beef and bacon. Melt the butter in the center of the skillet or frying pan, then add the flour on top of the mixture and stir everything together.
Add the water and milk, stir, then add the pasta and bring the mixture to a rolling boil. Once it has reached a boil, reduce heat to low and simmer for 7-9 minutes or until the pasta has reached your desired level of tenderness.
Remove from heat, add the grated cheese and chopped parsley. Stir until the cheese is melted, cover and allow to finish cooking for 1-2 minutes or until pasta is tender. Serve immediately.
