Best Ground Cloves Substitute: Allspice (+ More Great Alternatives!)

Instructions
Use whole cloves (and grind them using a spice grinder or mortar and pestle) and reduce the amount to ⅓ the amount of ground cloves in your recipe. So, for each 1 tablespoon of ground cloves use 1 teaspoon of freshly ground whole cloves.
Use either allspice, nutmeg, and the readily available cinnamon in equal 1:1 ratio for substituting ground cloves in any recipe.
