Notes
Recipe YieldThis will make about 8 teaspoons of apple pie spice, with a serving size generally being 1½ teaspoons (depending on your recipe, you may need more or less). How Much Apple Pie Spice To Use?For apple pie specifically, a great rule of thumb is to use 1½ teaspoons per 6 apples. For any other desserts or dishes, I would follow the recipe or adjust to taste!
To make this spice blend extra warm and special, add ½ teaspoon clove and/or ½ teaspoon ginger.
I highly recommend including the cardamom, but if you don't have it- you can omit it and adjust the allspice to 1 teaspoon.
You can replace cinnamon in any recipe with this apple pie spice recipe.
To store: Make sure to place your spice mix in a spice jar or airtight container. It is best to place spices in cabinets, and it will last for 2-3 years. However, spices do lose flavor over time, so this time frame will vary based on how fresh the spices were when you used them to make your spice blend.
