Instructions
Pat your steak(s) dry with paper towels and coat it lightly with olive oil.
Season the steak(s) on all sides with steak seasoning, pressing it into the meat. *If not cooking immediately, let the steak sit out at room temperature for 45 minutes before air frying.
Place the steak(s) in your air fryer basket and cook at 390°F (199°C) for 4-5 minutes. Then, open the basket, flip the steak(s), and cook for 4-5 minutes more.
Remove your steak(s) from the air fryer. Top each one with a tablespoon of butter, cover with a loose tent of foil, and let rest for at least 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
I made this recipe with 1 8-ounce ribeye, but you could easily fit 2 smaller steaks of your choice and the recipe will work. The ingredients on this list are PER STEAK, so if making more, be sure to double them.
If using 2 steaks, make sure there is room for the air to circulate around and between them. Don't over-crowd your air fryer!
If you are working with particularly thick steaks, you may need to add 1 minute per side.
For the best results, set your steaks out ahead of time so they can come to room temperature before cooking.
These directions are for a medium-rare steak. If you prefer your steak cooked more or less, follow these guidelines and check it with a meat thermometer- Rare: 125°F, Medium-Rare: 135°F, Medium: 145°F, Medium Well: 155°F, Well: 160°F
