Instructions
In a small mixing bowl, stir or whisk the melted butter, lemon juice, minced garlic, minced shallot, Dijon mustard, and prepared horseradish until well blended. *Use and immersion blender or blender to make your sauce creamy if desired.
Add in the parsley, dried chives, thyme, paprika, salt & pepper, and cayenne pepper and stir until evenly distributed in the dipping sauce.
Serve with steak or your favorite meats.
Notes
You may use softened butter in place of melted butter for a thicker sauce or butter spread.
I recommend using good-quality butter for the best results. European butter brands like Kerrygold, Plugra, Echire, Wuthrich, Beurdell, or any European-style variety will have a higher fat content and will yield the best results.
If you want a thicker sauce, add more Dijon mustard. For a thinner sauce, add more butter.
To store: Store your leftover cowboy butter in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
To freeze: Place cowboy butter in a freezer-safe container in the freezer for up to 4 months. When you are ready to serve, thaw your cowboy butter in the fridge overnight to enjoy the next day.
