Instructions
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C/Gas Mark 5) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Slit each of your 8 hot dogs down the top center with a sharp knife. Start and stop with ½-1 inch remaining at both ends of the hot dogs.
Stuff the sliced 2 slices cheddar cheese and optional 2-3 dill pickles into the slits.
Open the canned 8 oz crescent rolls dough and separate the 8 triangles out. Pinch any tears together then place a stuffed hot dog with the cheese side up onto the wider end of each wedge. Roll toward the narrow end, then transfer onto your baking sheet.
Bake at 375°F (190°C/Gas Mark 5) for 12-15 minutes or until the crescent rolls are a light golden color.
Remove from the oven and serve after cooling for a minute or two.
Notes
Since hot dogs are the star of the show, you'll want to make sure you use your favorite high-quality dogs! I recommend using all-beef hot dogs, but you could even use bratwurst if you prefer!
Leave space in between all of your hot dogs on the baking sheet to ensure even cooking.
Feel free to brush the top of the crescent rolls with some melted butter (or even add some garlic powder!) before baking for some extra flavor.
These hot dogs are perfect for the whole family! Lay out some filling options and toppings and let the kids choose what they like and stuff them themselves! Include a variety of cheeses, pickles, jalapenos, and even onions!
To store: These hot dogs are best enjoyed fresh, but you can easily store them in the fridge for 2-3 days.
To reheat: Reheat your crescent dogs on a baking sheet in the oven at 375°F (190°C/Gas Mark 5) until heated through.
