Instructions
Place the green beans into a microwave-safe casserole dish and add enough water to cover the bottom of the dish. Microwave the dish on high power for 8-10 minutes, or until the green beans are almost tender.
Drain the green beans in a colander and immediately rinse them with cold water in order to maintain the bright green color.
Heat a medium-sized skillet over medium heat and then add the silvered almonds.
Cook the almonds until they begin to turn a golden-brown color, about 5 minutes. Make sure to keep an eye on them so they don't burn.
Remove the skillet from the heat and add in the butter, stirring it until melted.
Place the pan back onto the heat and add in the minced garlic, cooked green beans, salt, and pepper.
Continue to stir the mixture until heated all the way through, about 5 minutes.
Remove from the heat and serve immediately.
Notes
If you like your green beans to still have a firm crunch to them, microwave them for less time, to begin with, and add more time as needed.
To store: Keep your green beans almondine in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days.
To reheat: Reheat the green beans in a skillet over medium-low heat.
