Instructions
In a medium bowl, combine the drained tuna, mayonnaise, sour cream, lemon juice, minced onion, garlic powder, dried dill, and salt and pepper to taste.
Use a fork to break up the tuna into small pieces and mix well until all the ingredients are evenly combined.
Taste the mixture and adjust the seasoning as needed.
Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
Before serving, give the tuna dip a quick stir and garnish with chopped fresh parsley or chives if desired.
Notes
You can use either canned solid white albacore tuna or canned chunk light tuna for this recipe. Just be sure to drain the tuna well before using it.
If you prefer a creamier dip, you can adjust the ratio of mayonnaise to sour cream to your liking.
If you don't have fresh onion on hand, you can use ½ teaspoon of onion powder instead.
You can also add other ingredients to the dip to customize it to your liking, such as chopped celery, bell pepper, or jalapeno for some added crunch or heat.
To store: Tuna dip can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days. Before serving, give the tuna dip a quick stir and let it come to room temperature for about 10-15 minutes.
