Instructions
In a large skillet over medium heat, cook your ham steaks for 3-4 minutes per side, or until lightly browned. Then, remove the ham from the skillet and drain any fat.
In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat and then stir in the brown sugar.
Return the browned ham to the skillet and cook until the brown sugar has dissolved (about 10 minutes), making sure to turn the ham often so it can be fully coated in the glaze.
Remove the ham from the skillet and serve immediately.
Notes
Alternatively, you can melt the butter in the pan, add your ham steaks, sprinkle the brown sugar over the top of the ham, flip, and sprinkle more brown sugar on the other side while cooking.
You can use 1-2 ham steaks with this recipe. If you need to make more than that, simply make more glaze!
Make sure your skillet is fully heated before adding your ham steak in order to get it nicely browned and crisp on the outside!
Use your leftovers on a salad, in soup, on a sandwich, in a breakfast casserole, in a quiche, or anything else you like!
To store: Allow the ham to cool completely and then put it into a container and keep it in the fridge for up to 4 days.
To freeze: Tightly wrap your ham steaks and freeze them for up to 2 months.
To reheat: You can reheat your ham steaks in the microwave or on the stovetop with a little bit of butter!
