Succulent, juicy glazed honey baked ham is so wonderful to make for a holiday buffet! It’s tender, savory, and glazed with a mixture of butter, honey, and brown sugar that really takes it over the top!
Making a holiday main course really couldn’t be easier! It only takes 5 minutes to prep! Ingredients 5 lb ham (ready-to-eat, pre-cooked ham) ½ cup brown sugar ⅓ cup butter (melted) ¼ cup honey ¼ cup whole cloves (optional)
Make the glaze. To make the glaze for the ham, melt ⅓ cup of butter in a microwave-safe mixing bowl. Next, add ½ cup of brown sugar, and ¼ cup of honey.
Make the glaze. Mix until well combined! If the sugar isn’t melting, heat the mixture in 15-second increments if needed to help make the mixture more liquid.
Glaze the ham. Once the glaze has been made, place your 5-pound ham into your roasting pan and pour the honey glaze all over! Use a basting brush to coat the entire surface of the ham as needed.
Bake. Place the roasting pan onto the middle of your oven’s center rack (adjust racks if needed to accommodate size). Then, bake at 325°F (163°C) for 50 minutes to 1 hour. Using 15-minute intervals, baste the ham, making sure that you close the oven door to retain heat. If desired, broil for the last 5 minutes to caramelize the glaze before removing from the oven.
Serve and rest. Remove the ham from the oven when it reaches 135°F (57°C), then cover loosely with a sheet of aluminum foil. Let the ham rest for about 20 minutes to redistribute juices and carryover cook so it rises to the proper temperature of 140°F (60°C).
