🔪 How To Air Fry Mushrooms
- Prep your mushrooms. Use a damp towel to clean your mushrooms (this prevents soggy mushrooms!), then slice large mushrooms into halves or quarters. Make sure that all of your mushrooms are relatively the same size so that they air fry evenly.
- Coat and toss mushrooms. Transfer the mushrooms into a bowl, then coat them with olive oil (EVOO) and seasoning (salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder), as well as any optional ingredients you'd like. *See Notes.
- Add to basket and air fry. Arrange the seasoned mushrooms in a single layer (work in batches if needed) in your air fryer basket. Air fry at 400°F (205°C) for 10 minutes. Be sure to shake the basket of mushrooms at least once while cooking, then continue air frying until the mushrooms have reached your desired level of tenderness and crispiness.
- Serve. Remove from your air fryer and serve immediately.
Perfectly tender and crisp air fryer mushrooms are an easy side dish for many meals!
💠Angela's Pro Tips & Notes
- Preheat the Air Fryer: For best results, preheat your air fryer before adding the mushrooms. This helps achieve a more even cook and a better texture.
- Even Sizing: Cut the mushrooms into even sizes for uniform cooking. Larger pieces may take longer to cook, leading to unevenly cooked batches.
- Seasoning Choices: Experiment with different seasoning blends for your mushrooms. Cajun seasoning or herbes de Provence can offer diverse and delicious flavor profiles.
- Flavor Enhancements: For added taste, consider mixing in a splash of Worcestershire sauce, balsamic vinegar, or soy sauce with the oil when coating the mushrooms.
- Batch Cooking: If preparing a large quantity of mushrooms, cook them in smaller batches rather than crowding the basket. This ensures even cooking and better texture.
